Erie Gives Day, December 7th, 2021

Updated: Nov 16, 2021

For decades Erie has had a philosophy of "taking care of our own". You can see it in social media posts when someone is having trouble. The whole town comes out to help in any way they can. Erie supports the others in Erie; always has and always will.

The Erie High School Education Foundation has supported Erie High students, alumni, and teachers since the foundation's forming shortly after the current school was built. Each year the foundation uses fundraisers like the annual FACE concert to raise money for EHS graduates to attend education after high school, whether at a university, community college, or trade school.

COVID has had a drastic effect on our lives. One of the myriad ways is that the Erie High School Education Foundation needs to fund scholarships without the traditional fundraising it's used in the past. To remedy this, we would like to introduce Erie Gives Day.

Erie Gives Day is December 7th, 2021. Members of our community (or others) may send money directly to support the EHS Ed Foundation with a tax-deductible donation! The EHS Ed Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) charitable organization with no paid employees. Because of this low overhead, the Foundation is able to turn its money over to scholarship winners to help with continuing their education after high school.

Over the last several years, the EHS Ed Foundation has granted EHS graduates and alumni in excess of $50,000 each year but can't continue to do it without your help! You needn't buy butter braids, candy, gift cards, or tickets...you can just send a donation directly to the Erie High School Education Foundation online via this payment portal.

Some folks are struggling due to COVID and we understand that but others have an opportunity to lend a hand. If every family attending EHS right now donated $50, the EHS Education Foundation would continue to have money available to support scholarship winners this year. Our current seniors have been through the wringer this year. Being able to assist them with their post-high school education would be a salve to their wounds.

Please consider this one-time, easy, tax-deductible donation on December 7th to directly support Erie High School seniors and alumni and help us "take care of our own."
