JOSH GRIFFIN
Board Member - Administrator
Josh Griffin is the new Principal of Erie High School, replacing Matt Buchler, who is retiring at the end of the 2022 school year. Mr. Griffin has spent his entire career in Jeffco Schools at D’Evelyn Junior/Senior High School, starting as a swim coach in 2003. He was hired as a staff member in 2006 and has worked as a teacher, assistant principal, and principal.
SUSIE GERMANY
Board Member - Legal Specialist
Susie Germany is a graduate of Erie H.S. and native of Erie and an attorney with The Germany Law Firm, PC and a Deputy Public Administrator for the 17th Judicial District. Her practice focuses in the areas of special needs planning, elder law, guardianships and conservatorships, trust and estate planning, fiduciary representation, probate, and trust administration. Ms. Germany received her bachelor’s degree from Pacific Lutheran University and her law degree from the University of Arkansas, Little Rock. She is a member of the Alaska Bar Association and the Colorado Bar Association, and is a past co-chair of the Elder Law Section of the Colorado Bar Association.
STEVE HULET
Treasurer
Steve Hulet, CPA, received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting from Colorado State University, Ft. Collins, Colorado, in December 1973. He began his career with a local private practice in Littleton, Colorado, in January 1974 with an emphasis in small business taxes and accounting services. In 1977, he became a partner in the Boulder firm of Russell, Guile, Wickham & Hulet. In 1981, he formed the current firm now named Hulet & Associates, PC He is a licensed CPA and member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Colorado Society of CPAs.
Away from the office, Steve spends time with his wife, Ann, and their three daughters. Steve is an avid outdoorsman who water skis, fishes, hunts, and spends time with the family camping and riding their ATVs.
SUE FRECH
Board Member - Marketing Specialist
Sue is one of the board's newest members and joined in 2020. She and her family moved from New Jersey to Erie in 2019. Sue and her husband Mike have three children; Emily, a Senior at Erie HS, Keira, an 8th Grader at Soaring Heights, and Travis, a third grader at Aspen Ridge.
Sue founded and runs a Marketing-Technology company headquartered in NYC.
Sue joined the EHSEF to give back to the community and meet some of the amazing people who live in our great town of Erie.
JUDY RUSK
Secretary
Judy was born in Boise, Idaho and graduated from Laramie High School. She then matriculated and graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in Political Science, minoring in Psychology. She spent one year doing graduate work in Public Administration. Judy is married to her husband Joe with three sons, all Erie High graduates, and 6 grandchildren. Judy retired from St. Vrain Valley Schools after 23 years. She was a fire EMT volunteer for Mountain View Fire before retiring after 23 years. Judy served on the Mountain View Fire District Board of Directors from 2002-2010, and has been on the Board of the Erie High School Education Foundation since 2007.
PAUL STECINA
Board Member - Administrator
Paul Stecina has worked in the Erie community for more than 20 years starting at Erie Middle/Senior High as a science and mathematics teacher and then later as a technology teacher. For the last eight years Mr Stecina has been the Dean of Students at Erie High. By far the best thing about working in Erie is the students. It's been fun for him to watch students pass through Erie High and then on into their post-high school lives and see what successes they have. Paul Stecina was made a member of the Board of the Education Foundation at the beginning of the 2017-18 school year and is excited to serve the community in this role.
DAVE SULLIVAN
Board President
Dave Sullivan (Sully) has been the President of The Erie High School Education Foundation, Inc. since its founding in 2007. Is a self-employed gunsmith for 41 years, and a graduate of Trinidad State Jr. College. He has served continuously on Erie School advisory panels since the early 1990’s, was co-chair of the 2001 Bond Campaign for SVVSD and was on the 2002 Bond Campaign committee and three Mill Levy override campaign committees. He was awarded Volunteer of the Year for SVVSD in 2005. Dave is married to Rebekah, living in “Old Town” Erie for 35 yrs. and has two grown children Kory and Sean, along with three grandchildren.
LISA KNUDSEN
Board Member - Philanthopy Specialist
Lisa Knudsen serves in the nonprofit sector as co-founder and co-director of Erie UpLink and co-leads Erie Moms in Prayer. Lisa has a master’s degree in marriage, family and child counseling from the University of San Diego. She worked as a licensed (LMFT) group, individual and family counselor and was an adjunct professor with Adams State University in the masters in counseling program. Her passions include spending time in the outdoors with her husband Jim and kids Cole and Kate, walking her black lab Meraki, and volunteering in the Erie community.
